Hei hei!
I'm Paolo Cipriani. I was born in 1977 in Roma.
I’m graduated in environmental science

When I started my photographic activities I had a specific regard to naturalistic photography,
but soon I realized that what was really in my interests were images themselves, regarding both human or natural matter...
I guess that is inside the "human nature" to focus above all on "human matters", even when it seems not...
I felt it right on my skin when I found out that some of so called naturalistic images I took were hiding a strong human content, or at least I was antropomorphizizing landscapes and shapes...
...the beauty and the surprise of this process was in the fact that I created the image spontaneously, without the research of an hidden meaning... and just in a second time, watching the image far from the real contest in which I took it, I could realize that I was capturing something else...so landscape turned into women...snow shapes into human bodies...
It's in human nature recall relations and aspect of men's life inside the most irrational and weird ways...and I strongly think it happens above all irrationally in the process of creating images...
Art in general, as pictures, paintings, sculptures or architecture or even non-visual art such as music and poetry have the insite power of creating images...
…photography is a form of art that stoles real images to create something that could appear as simple, but that could hide a lot of latent information...

...so I guess there is no other way that admit it...
...yes, Images can talk...
...louder than words sometimes...
...Images talk...
...About human,
and nature...
And about HUMAN NATURE, in itself...
Images talk, without words...
With shapes, colours and lines...
Images talk...
...and recall other images...

ABOUT MY EQUIPMENT:
I started taking pictures with a fantastic Nikon Fm-2n, a completely manual reflex camera...a piece of iron that worked fine during a -38° degrees winter pictures session in Finland…and during a +38° degrees session over a boat somewhere in Mediterranean sea...
My Fm-2n always mounts a 24mm 2.8 Nikkor AI lens...and I use it with Fuji Sensia films for color and Kodak tri-X films for black and white.
Rarely I use an old Nikkor 300mm 4.5...

I own also a Canon Eos10d digital reflex camera, that I use practically everyday...
With my Eos10d I use a Sigma 18-50mm 2.8 objective, or a cheap but good Canon 28-105mm 3.5-4.5.

Ho iniziato la mia attività fotografica con una decisa predilezione per la fotografia naturalistica, ma ho ben presto maturato la consapevolezza che il mio interesse reale era, ed è tuttora, per le immagini in sé per sé, che siano di impronta naturalistica o meno...
...penso sia insita nella natura umana la ricerca per i fattori più spiccatamente relazionali ed umani, anche in contesti laddove possa sembrare apparentemente impossibile trovarne...
...in maniera diretta ho potuto constatare che spesso anche le più "naturalistiche e selvagge" delle mie immagini, celavano in realtà un forte contenuto umano, o quantomeno tendevano ad antropomorfizzare paesaggi e forme...suppongo che la bellezza di questo processo creativo risieda nella sua spontaneità e irrazionalità, vera linfa dell’arte in generale...
Fotografie, dipinti, sculture e forme architettoniche, ma d’altro canto anche forme d’arte di natura non spiccatamente visiva, come musica e poesia, hanno l’insito potere di dar vita ad immagini...
...la fotografia è una forma d’arte che ruba immagini reali per creare qualcosa che può apparire come una semplice rappresentazione della realtà...ma che in realtà cela, latente, una forte rappresentazione della realtà umana...
Proprio per questo ho scelto di ordinare le mie gallerie in due sezioni,
HUMAN e NATURE,
lasciando tra loro una connessione tale da far denotare la continuità che ritengo esista tra ciò che è spiccatamente umano, e ciò che è "il naturale" visto dall’uomo...
